Thank you for writing such a phenomenal message of how God can break the chains that hold us back from living in freedom. I was so blessed from reading this book and wish I had it when I was younger yet I still receive so much from it now. From the perspective of your testimony and what the Word of God says, I've learned what can hold you back from living a truly joyful life. Definitely sharing this book!!

A MUST READ!!!!

Emonne, thank you so much for writing this book. It truly is a must read for people of all ages but especially for teen girls. I wish I had this book when I was a teenager. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Emonne writes, "You can't take every friend you've ever had along where God is taking you." What a true statement that gets you to look at the friends and people you surround your life with and make sure they are going in the same direction. If you let it, this book will be the avenue to let the Lord truly set YOU FREE!!!

Helen Rowland's wit, sense of humor and graceful style make reading this book an enjoyable experience. If you like Mae West, you will likely like Helen Rowland. Her advice is more detailed and slightly less risque, but no less interesting. Although the language is outdated, the advice is largely pretty good. An easy, amusing read that will give you lots of quotes to amuse your friends.

From Venus She Came

The story told in "Omnec Onec: Ambassador From Venus" is not easy to categorize. It doesn't fit the mold of the typical contactee account of face-to-face meetings with benevolent aliens, nor is it like the later and more familiar abductee accounts of being swept into a ship full of grays.

What we have instead is a fascinating autobiography of a young woman born and raised in a near perfect Utopian paradise on Venus who willingly sacrifices here idyllic life there in order to come to Earth and help a young female victim of child abuse work through her punishing karma. It is an act of unselfishness few people on Earth would be capable of, and it makes for a great motivating factor in this inspiring story of interplanetary compassion.

The book opens with young Omnec Onec, called by the Venusian name given the author on her home planet (her Earthly name is Sheila), landing in the Nevada desert in 1955 and then journeying to Tennesee to take the place of the little girl she came to inhabit the body of and protect.

Along the way, we get an in-depth education in Venusian metaphysics told with the kind of attention to detail and narrative precision that makes it hard to dismiss as simple New Age raving. The beauty of the Venusian landscape, which exists at a higher vibration than Earthly mortals can see or hear, is described in breathtaking, exquisite language that carries the reader into everyday life on another planet with a practiced ease that goes well beyond any notion of science-fiction fakery.

There is also the part of the story involving the dysfunctional Earth family that Omnec Onec has traveled to be a part of. It is an emotionally powerful tale to say the least. The sentiment aroused by the Venusian transplant's going with her mortal cousins to see the science fiction classic "The Thing From Outer Space," for example, displays an eager willingness to join suffering humanity and bear some of its burdens. There is the obvious irony of the benevolent alien seeing a Hollywood depiction of a hostile one, but Omnec also talks about learning to wear makeup and the same yearning to grow up felt by all adolescents, even though she is already hundreds of years old in Venusian time.

Other human-looking aliens are already here, according to Omnec, operating unseen on Earth as they work to help us through the world-shattering difficulties that lie just ahead of us and to overcome the faults in character that threaten to destroy us from within. Current research into the alien abduction phenomenon has found that the hybrids being created by the alien genetics program have lately begun to be more and more human-looking, which adds some real world support to Omnec's story.

Something else interesting is the fact that Omnec actually looks the part. There are photos of her on the cover and elsewhere inside the book that show a beautiful young woman with ice-blonde hair peering confidently into the camera. One can only wonder if her Nordic good looks are indeed a product of something out of this world.

We are much in debt to Inner Light/Global Communications for this recent reissue of Omnec's book. Copies of the original hardback sell for hundreds of dollars, but this edition is available for a mere $29.95. In the interest of total disclosure, I did some copyediting on the book but made no changes of any kind. I simply made sure that the original text was completely intact after the publisher encountered some problems with the printing process. This is word-for-word what Omnec wrote originally, with every last asterisk in place.

Veteran UFO researcher Wendelle Stevens (Ret.) contributes not only some very helpful introductory material but also adds some concluding remarks that place the story in a present day context. A section of beautiful paintings by artist Gilbert William, who also claims a Venusian heritage, fills up the book's last pages.

So if you have an interest in metaphysics or alternative versions of alien contact or simply want to read an engrossing story that eludes the simple confines of fact and fantasy, "Omnec Onec: Ambassador From Venus" is here now at a bargain price.

A Different Kind of Alien Contact

I find this book to be very interesting reading, as it is not your typical "alien contact/abductee/channeled" type of book. It is written from the direct experience of a woman who says she is from Venus, and she gives very detailed information about life on her planet, which I find hard to just dimiss as mere imagination. What I also find to be most interesting is her description of the religion on Venus called Om Notia Zedia, which is almost exactly like the spiritual teaching of ECKANKAR here on earth. As related in the book, she was told she would find a teaching on earth that was the same as what she had followed on her home planet, and I know for a fact that she was a member of ECKANKAR for several years. This book makes for enlightening reading, no matter what you may or may not believe, and read with an open mind, can give one something to think about.

A terrific introduction

Burgess, who is known for his almost fetishistic interest Shakespeare, was also quite a Joyce-head as well. This introduction, while difficult to find, is truly wonderful. I have read a few books on Joyce, and none can match Burgess' eloquence and enthusiasm. Ellman's biography is still the definitive Joyce tome, but Burgess has a freedom to wax fan boy in a way that Ellman could not, and the result is marvelous. Burgess' comments on Joyce's life are witty, touching and truthful, but what makes this book a must-have is his commentary on Finnegans Wake. No other critic has, in so few pages, made the "man-made mountain" seem so clear.

There are a few moments when Burgess labels certain linguistic acrobatics as "obvious" when they are clearly not. This book is not, in fact, for the ordinary reader. Presumably, however, an ordinary reader would not tackle the Wake in the first place. Burgess must be excused a touch of pretension here and there (he is a literary scholar, and literary scholars all lost touch with the ordinary reader ages ago), and the sheer rapture of this introduction makes it a must-read for any aspiring Joyce fan.

A lovely book, well worth the high price for a used copy.

Overview The subject of partial differential equations has an unchanging core of material but is constantly expanding and evolving. Furthermore nonlinear problems are omitted because they are too hard to deal with analytically. Now, however, the availability of convenient, powerful computational software has made it possible to enlarge the scope of the introductory course. My goal in this text is to give the student a broader picture of the subject. In addition to the basic core subjects, I have included material on nonlinear problems and brief discussions of numerical methods. I feel that it is important for the student to see nonlinear problems and numerical methods at the beginning of the course, and not at the end when we run usually run out of time. Furthermore, numerical methods should be introduced for each equation as it is studied, not lumped together in a final chapter.

Too Many Errors

I purchased the Kindle version. The typos are simply intolerable. Learning partial differential equations is difficult. This book makes it unbearable.

This book is hit or miss

This book does some things very well and some things not so well, depending on your perspective. Perhaps one of its problems is that it attempts to straddle the line between being a book for scientists and being a book for math students.

That said, it could stand a fairly hefty reorganization. For example, the relationship between Green's functions, weak solutions, and fundamental solutions could be brought together in an early chapter instead of spread throughout the book. Same goes for material on eigenfunction expansion.
The material on a given PDE for one dimension should probably be at least near the chapter on the same PDE in multiple dimensions, rather than being separated by 6-7 chapters.

On top of this, the material is sometimes hard to follow in terms of motivation and justification. This is not uniform, however, and some parts of the book are quite clear. And, all things considered, it does a fairly good job of presenting things rigorously without alienating its potential audience of scientists and engineers who are not as versed in proof-based books.

Aesthetically, there are a lot of somewhat serious typos and the typography is atrocious. For example, parentheses are not sized properly, bars written over letters do not cover the letters as they should. These are basic and easy to fix LaTeX errors, and it gives the book an appearance of having been rushed or at least not given the attention to detail it should have been.

Meh.... Seriously. Meh.

I'm not going to give a very detailed review, instead I'm simply going to point out three things that might make this problematic for some reader.

1) The main character is incredibly overpowered. I.e in one battle he and a small handful (200 ish) take on 500,000 demons and triumph
2) The enemy has no depth. All we know is that the are evil, filled with rage and their sole driving factor being the enslavement of humanity. They are a perfect faceless mass to destroy without guilt because they are nothing more than 2 dimensional xenophobic cardboard props.
3) In book 2 the main character gives an "Everybody needs gun at all times speech. Buy guns and keep them with you at all times, because that is the only way you will stay safe". But despite this speech guns don't acutally seem to work against the demons, which is why the soulguards use swords, why the US millitary can't handle the problem, and why the mages eventally seem to want to magicly overpower bullets in book 2.

Amazing book. Loved every part along with the unexpected twists and turns. He aged a bit to fast though... So Colin Rourke is known as Colin Jaeger in the first parts of the book for the reason that his father is Kevin Rourke or Kevin Demonkiller. Kevin is a famous deceased Soulguard from legends. Soulguard are people with different more complex souls than regular. They have fast recovery and different superhuman abilities. Mages are like soulguard but with larger soul streams they can pull on the Source. The Source is an endless pool of power for all Mages. Colin is none of these but he has the powers of both. He has a rage when he fights demons. Rage is the beast that wakes when demons come through the portal. What happens when demons attack the people he cares about? The Beast goes crazy.

Great story and timely

Great concept and developed story. A bit disjointed at certain points during the transitions as our hero Colin developed but Mr Woods did a good job bringing us back to the appropriate point on the storyline.His integration wasn't always seamless but they were entertaining. This story hit a resounding cord with me on many levels. An exceptional job of storytelling and highly recommended sci fi reading which should b made into a movie. Respects from an avid sci fi reader.
