I weave, knit, sew but crochet has always confused me! I am in the process of making the caravan and so far I am feeling confident about crocheting! I am living and traveling in a camper/caravan so this project is especially fun. I am in the US and here's what I am using: Grace by Patons which is a mercerized cotton.; tacky glue for construction; sugar & cream cotton for interior accessories. I will be consulting the author's errata page because I can't figure out how and when to attach the front but other than that the directions have been excellent. Thank you, Kate Burning for getting me crocheting at last!

This book has amazing designs that are cute to decorate a table or shelf, but absolutely perfect to help develop a young mind for imagination and creativity. There are so many projects, from camper, boats, tents, sleeping bags, picnic blankets, as well as plenty of camping accessories. This book is so cute! The size of the book is little and fits the cute little projects featured in it. The styling of the projects is inspiring as well as the projects themselves. The projects will inspire play for little ones as well as for adults to style and enjoy making. My favorite project is the vintage style camper and all the little accessories. I am also going the make the tiny clothing accessories for dolls.

Fabulous

In many readers' lives there are a few books, or maybe only one, which serve as touchstones. They define us like our most vivid memories do. Not many books or stories deserve that kind of devotion, but this one does. It isn't timeless - it's deeply rooted in 20th century France - but its honest treatment of the time and place is one of the things that makes it universal.

There are dozens of facets that could be highlighted in a review, but the one I find most compelling is Giono's treatment of a man alone and how he is yet connected to the world around him. Even a solitary figure can contribute to the birth and health of a community. It's not clear why he does his work, but it's clear that the work is good.

There is such hope here, but no easy palliative. It is a call to lifelong diligence in the service of something good, and important, and bigger than ourselves.

Will inspire you and your children to care for nature.

The Man Who Planted Trees is the tale of Elzeard Bouffier, a man who, after his son and wife die, spends his life reforesting miles of barren land in southern France. Bouffier's planting of thousands and thousands of trees results in many wondrous things occurring, including water again flowing in brooks that had been dry for many years. The brooks are fed by rains and snows that are conserved by the forest that Bouffier planted. The harsh, barren land is now pleasant and full of life.
Written by Jean Giono, this popular story of inspiration and hope was originally published in 1954 in Vogue as "The Man Who Planted Hope and Grew Happiness." The story's opening paragraph is as follows:
"For a human character to reveal truly exceptional qualities, one must have the good fortune to be able to observe its performance over many years. If this performance is devoid of all egoism, if its guiding motive is unparalleled generosity, if it is absolutely certain that there is no thought of recompense and that, in addition, it has left its visible mark upon the earth, then there can be no mistake."
The Man Who Planted Trees has left a "visible mark upon the earth" having been translated into several languages. In the "Afterword" of the Chelsea Green Publishing Company's edition, Norma L. Goodrich wrote that Giono donated his story. According to Goodrich, "Giono believed he left his mark on earth when he wrote Elzeard Bouffier's story because he gave it away for the good of others, heedless of payment: `It was one of my stories of which I am the proudest. It does not bring me in one single penny and that is why it has accomplished what it was written for.'"
This special edition is very informative. Not only does it contain Giono's inspirational story, which is complemented beautifully by Michael McCurdy's wood engraving illustrations and Goodrich's informative "Afterword" about Giono, but it also contains considerable information about how wood and paper can be conserved in the section "The WoodWise Consumer." Goodrich writes about Giono's effort to have people respect trees.
"Giono later wrote an American admirer of the tale that his purpose in creating Bouffier `was to make people love the tree, or more precisely, to make them love planting trees.' Within a few years the story of Elzeard Bouffier swept around the world and was translated into at least a dozen languages. It has long since inspired reforestation efforts, worldwide."
The Man Who Planted Trees is not only a wonderful story, it will inspire you and your children to care for the natural world.

He talks to mothers, grandmothers, and pastors, to activists and gang leaders, to the maimed and the hopeful, to aspiring rappers, athletes, or those who simply want safe passage to school or a steady job. Gangland Chicago, he shows, is as complicated as ever. It’s not just a warzone but a community, a place where people’s dreams are projected against the backdrop of unemployment, dilapidated housing, incarceration, addiction, and disease, the many hallmarks of urban poverty that harden like so many scars in their lives. This book sits comfortably among the best ethnographies of the last two decades. Ralph's debut makes one think at times of the most literarily stunning passages in João Biehl's Vita. This is a beautifully written book, and it should appeal to a wide audience far beyond anthropology and urban sociology. It represents a great step forward for US-based anthropology and writing writ large in the social sciences. For anyone with interests in urban studies and urban anthropology/sociology, the American ghetto, the city of Chicago, gang studies, disability studies, or simply great writing, this book is not to be missed.

If you follow Dr.Elder and Mr. Lovvorn's work, are an existing Spike Trader, or are just someone who enjoys trading you will like this e- book. The information is very useable to those familiar with these author's website and other works. I am very impressed with the e-book feature that allows me to tap the chart and immediately be online to see a bigger version of the chart picture in the book. The transition back and forth from book to nonlinear view of the chart is smooth, seamless, and fast.

The authors present their common sense views on investing in a logical and well explained manner I really appreciate their willingness to communicate with the members of their website. This book demonstrates the lengths that these gentlemen go to in order to educate traders.

Great stuff and great price. I knocked one star off the rating simply because I wanted to read more.

The book helped me get over a hard time

My Grandfather named Bob, recently past away, and during the funeral, this enchanting book was read. Not only did it bring smiles of joy, yet smiles of sadness, but tears to grown men. Every member of my family now owns a copy of the book, and every time we seem sad about him passing away, we remember "Just Bob was there". I believe this book is not only for children, but adults as well, and everyone should read it.
