Maybe the best algebra book ever written

I'm an 8th grade math teacher and I teach my Algebra 1 curriculum largely from this text. It has good example problems and plenty of regular problems. There are solid word problems as well as the more straightforward skill reinforcement problems. It covers a lot of topics in interesting ways. For example, the problems on vertical motion are an excellent application of quadratics and foreshadow high school physics nicely. This book is NOT filled with distracting junk like other texts. It is pure math, pure and simple.

Excellent classic, with LOTS of practice problems

An excellent, classic, text book. Linear guidance (not random, e.g. "bits and pieces"), and many varied problems -- as many practical problems as a student is likely to need. Lots of opportunities for students to practice in learning concepts.
